Frontal view shows
blurring of right heart border
vertical orientation of anterior ribs (heart-shaped)
displacement of heart towards the left
Lateral view clearly shows pectus excavatum.
Faint pulmonary opacity at left middle zone.
Atelectasis of superior segment of lingula.
Few ground glass opacities at the lateral part of anterior segment of left upper lobe, in keeping with infection.
Bilateral gynaecomastia is noted.
Pectus excavatum.
Case Discussion
Radiographic appearances of pectus excavatum. It is a congenital chest wall deformity seen as concave depression of the sternum and can be symptomatic in some cases.
