Presentation
History of fall with pain in the elbow.
Patient Data
There is a nondisplaced supracondylar fracture of the distal humerus. Joint effusion is seen displacing both anterior and posterior fat pads.
Case Discussion
Supracondylar fracture is the most common fracture of the elbow in children, more common in boys as compared to girls. This injury can happen due to accidental trauma of the elbow like a fall from a moderate height (table, bed, chair, small wall, etc). They typically occur following a fall onto a hyperextended elbow.
