Presentation

History of post-traumatic urethral stricture and recent repair.

Patient Data

Age: 30 years
Gender: Male
Fluoroscopy

Post-operative peri-catheter retrograde urethrogram shows mild contrast leakage in the bulbomembranous regions accompanied by marked venous intravasation.

Case Discussion

Venous intravasation in retrograde urethrography is associated with pre-existing mucosal breaches when contrast enters the submucosal venous plexus and intravasation along the venous pathway. It should notice that iodinated contrast into the venous circulation may lead to an allergic reaction in susceptible individuals. Consider stopping the procedure when encountering intravasation.
