Does the CT appearance of the mass suggest a lipid-rich adrenal adenoma?
No, the attenuation value does not suggest the possibility of a lipid-rich adrenal adenoma.
What laboratory tests could you suggest for such a patient?
Urinary vanillylmandelic acid and 24 hours catecholamines.
A rather rounded, solid, soft tissue density right adrenal mass appears slightly hypodense to the liver parenchyma and almost isodense to the renal cortex. No definite fat density or calcification seen within the mass. The mass showed early contrast enhancement then rapid wash out and there is a central hypodense non-enhancing area of possible necrosis.
