Where is the typical location of intracranial meningioma?
Supratentorial region, predominantly at the convexity or parasagittal region
Where is the typical location of intracranial meningioma in children?
Ventricles , predominantly in the trigone of the lateral ventricle
What is the typical MRI characteristic of meningioma?
Meningioma is typically isointense to hypointense to gray matter on T1-weighted image, and isointense to hyperintense to gray matter on T2-weighted imaged. Most meningiomas usually enhance homogeneously on T1WI C+.
Selected MRI sequences show a well-defined round mass centered within the trigone of the left lateral ventricle. The mass is isointense to gray matter on T1 and T2-weighted images, and exhibits homogeneous enhancement. Perilesional white matter edema and obstructive hydrocephalus are seen.
