What other incomplete fractures commonly occur in children?
Greenstick and bowing fractures complete the set of incomplete fractures in children.
What are your review areas for this film?
After spotting the buckle fracture, you must review the rest of the film. Specifically the elbow (since it is included on the AP film).
Do you notice any other abnormality?
Yes, there is abnormal angulation of the radial neck. Any angulation in paediatric bones should be treated with suspicion. A dedicated elbow view is required.
There is an obvious buckle fracture of the distal radius. However, careful inspection of the proximal radius should draw your attention to angulation of the radial neck.
