Anterior inferior iliac spine avulsion

Discussion:

In pediatric patients, injury at a growth-plate or equivalent is much more common than a complete fracture. In the pelvis, this usually occurs at the insertion of muscular attachments.  Avulsion of the anterior inferior iliac spine is not uncommon and often occurs after attempted to kick a ball and missing it. The description of a "pop" in the groin is also not uncommon.
