Bronchial atresia

Discussion:

Congenital bronchial atresia (CBA) is a rare congenital abnormality which usually presents incidentally in asymptomatic young male adults. It is caused by an interruption of a lobar, segmental or subsegmental bronchus with associated peripheral mucus impaction. It is associated to hyperinflation of the obstructed lung segment.
