What grade is this AC joint injury?
Type 2 - the combination of widened AC joint space; increased coracoclavicular distance (not not double the normal distance, which would be indicative of a higher grade injury) and superior displacement of the inferior border of the distal clavicle but not beyond the superior border of the acromion.
AC joint space and CC distances are widened. The distal clavicle is displaced superiorly compared to the acromion. Overlying soft tissue swelling. No fracture. Glenohumeral joint is normal.
CONCLUSION
Rockwood type 2 acromioclavicular joint injury.
