Histology

Microscopic Description:  Sections show small pieces of a relatively hypocellular tumor displaying numerous hyalinized capillaries. A few foci of recognizable meningioma are seen. Areas of sclerosis are also noted. Brain tissue is not identified.

Final Diagnosis: Meningioma (WHO grade 1)

Discussion

It is important to realize that some meningiomas, especially microcystic, secretory and angiomatous variants can be very bright on T2.
