Giant hepatic hemangioma

Discussion:

The typical enhancement pattern of hemangioma is a peripheral nodular discontinuous enhancement that gradually fills centrally and follows aortic attenuation (same as for smaller hemangiomas).

Contrast filling may be slow and the central portions may never demonstrate complete contrast fill in. Occasionally, they may exhibit minimal contrast enhancement.

The case demonstrated has large central fibrous scar and doesn't show complete contrast fill in. However; small hemangioma seen in the left lobe with homogenous centripetal filling.
