Pyogenic vertebral osteomyelitis with subligamentous spread

Discussion:

T9 and T10 vertebral body osteomyelitis with anterior subligamentous spread. No definite evidence of discitis. T8 and T11 vertebral bodies at risk of involvement.

The findings are very suspicious for tuberculous osteomyelitis.

In this case, however, multiple blood cultures were positive for methicillin resistant staphylococcus aureus (MRSA).
