There is an ovoid 13mm x 9mm density within the left external capsule/claustrum/extreme capsule - just lateral to the posterior limb of the left internal capsule. Associated punctate calcifications. There is minimal, if any localised mass effect within the region of haemorrhage. No further evidence of acute haemorrhage or CT evidence of acute infarction. Ventricles and basal cisterns are normal.
Conclusion
Partly calcified left temporal lobe lesion as described, possibly haemorrhagic. Differentials include an underlying AVM or cavernous malformation and neoplasm, primary or metastatic.
