Calcaneonavicular coalition is not uncommonly observed. In this case it was asymptomatic until trauma to this area was a cause for imaging.

It is important to remember that the apophysis of the calcaneus fuses by the age 12 - 15 in both sexes. In rare cases it may be delayed until age 16 in females and 22 in males.
