Although previously thought to have a high risk of associated cancer and therefore considered an indication for cholecystectomy, more recent studies have indicated the risk is lower and therefore routine intervention and follow-up is not indicated.
CT demonstrates a stricturing proximal transverse colon tumour causing large bowel obstruction and confirms the presence of a porcelain gallbladder.
