Small bowel obstruction secondary to femoral hernia

Discussion:

A case of incarcerated femoral hernia resulting in small bowel obstruction.

Some parts of the dilated loops of small bowel walls were thickened possibly as a result of early ischemia. The femoral hernia is located below the inguinal ligament.

On CT, the femoral hernia sac is lateral to the pubic tubercle differentiating it from inguinal hernia which is located medial the pubic tubercle.
