This is a case of a peritonsillar abscess. Otolaryngology was consulted for the concern of the right peritonsillar abscess. The abscess was drained using an 18 gauge needle yielding approximately 4 mL of purulent fluid. Subsequently, the abscess was debrided. The patient did well post-operatively and was discharged home without complication or recurrence.
