When dissection includes the ascending aorta, involvement of the following need to be assessed for :

• aortic valve (leading to acute aortic regurg)
• origins of the coronary arteries (leading to myocardial ischemic or infarct, which you may see as reduced enhancement of the affected territory)
• pericardium (leading to hemopericardium and tamponade)
