Annulo-aorticAnnuloaortic ectasia refers to a proximal dilatation of the aortic root at the level of the aortic annulus, itwhich is also the same level as the sinus of Valsalva.
Pathology
Annulo-aorticAnnuloaortic ectasia occurs with connective tissue diseases such as Marfan disease and Ehlers-Danlos syndrome. It is a cystic medial necrosis, which puts the patients at greatincreased risk for aortic dissection, which in turn may lead to rupture 1-3.
