Connatal cyst
Updates to Article Attributes
Connatal cysts (also, also known as coarctation of the lateral ventricles or frontal frontal horn cysts) are, are cystic areas adjacent to the superolateral margins of the body and frontal horns of the lateral ventricles and are believed to represent a normal variant1.
Pathology
It was previously believed to be a sequelae of different insults in the developing brain 2, however it seems to be just a normal variant 1,3.
Radiographic features
Connatal cysts are located at or just below the superolateral angles of the frontal horns or body of the lateral ventricles and are mainly anterior to the foramina of Monro.
Radiographic features
As above, connatal cysts are located at or just below the superolateral angles of the frontal horns or body of the lateral ventricles and are mainly anterior to the foramina of Monro.
Differential diagnosis
