Gastric lymph node stations
Updates to Article Attributes
The lymph nodes of stomach is classified into 16 groups proposed by the Japanese Research Society for Gastric Cancer in 1963.
Station 1 :- Right Cardia Lymph nodes
Station 2 :- Left Cardia Lymph nodes
Station 3 :- Lymph nodes along the lesser curvature
Station 4 :- Lymph nodes along the greater curvature
4sa :- Lymph nodes along the short gastric vessels
4sb :- Lymph nodes along the left gastroepiploic vessels
4d :- Lymph nodes along the right gastroepiploic vessels
Station 5 :- Suprapyloric group of Lymph nodes or Lymph nodes along the right gastric artery
Station 6 :- Infrapyloric groups of lymph nodes
Station 7 :- Lymph nodes along the left gastric artery
Station 8 :- Lymph nodes along the common hepatic artery
Station 9 :- Lymph nodes around the celiac artery
Station 10 :- Lymph nodes at the splenic hilus
Station 11 :- Lymph nodes along the splenic artery
Station 12 :- Lymph nodes in the hepatoduodenal ligament
Station 13 :- Lymph nodes behind the pancreatic head
Station 14 :- Lymph nodes at the root of the mesentery or the Superior mesenteric artery
Station 15 :- Lymph nodes along the middle colic artery
Station 16 :- Para-aortic group of Lymph nodes
The areas of stomach which drains to regional lymph nodes:-
1. Cardia and proximal lesser curvatures drains into left gastric lymph nodes and then into celiac nodes.
2. Pylorus and the distal lesser curvature drains into the right gastric lymph nodes
3. Proximal part of greater curvature drains into the pancreaticosplenic nodes in the splenic hilum
4. Distal part of greater curvature drains into the right gastroepiploic nodes and the pyloric nodes at the head of the pancreas
