There are two main types of radiography article. 

Radiographic series

These articles describe the set of projections that make up a series that might be requested by a clinician, e.g. they would request a wrist X-ray, to get a PA and lateral view, together these are termed the series.

The standard article is comprised of the following headings:

  • introductory sentence/paragraph
  • projections
    • standard projections
    • additional projections
  • indications

Radiographic view

These articles describe a specific projectional view that is obtained as part of a radiographic series.

The standard article is comprised of the following headings:

  • introductory sentence/paragraph
  • patient position
  • X-ray beam features
  • image technical evaluation: how to tell if the view is adequate
  • practical points
  • +<li>image technical evaluation: how to tell if the view is adequate</li>
