Left ventricular enlargement can be the result of a number of condition, including:

pressure overload
- hypertension
- aortic stenosis
volume overload
- aortic regurgitation
- mitral regurgitation
wall abnormalities
- left ventricular aneurysm
- hypertrophic cardiomyopathy
