The parietotemporal or parietomastoid suture represents the articulation between the parietal and temporal bones posteriorly. Anteriorly, they articulate at the squamosal suture. The parietotemporal suture is considered the most posterior continuation of squamosal suture and is at times interrupted by the squamomastoid suture.
