PHACE syndrome comprises of

- C: coarctation of the aorta and cardiac anomalies
- E: ocular anomalies
When sternal clefting is also present it is termed PHACES syndrome.
Historical context
Initially described as an association of largecutaneous hemangiomas of the head and anomalies of the cerebralvasculature by Pascual-Castroviejo in 1978. subsequently been coined the term PHACE association by Frieden et.al 2.
