The sinusoid sign is a dynamic sonographic sign in M mode describing the movement line representing the lung towards the pleural line which is displayed as sinusoidal pattern. Similar to the quad sign, this sign has a high sensitivity and specificity for pleural effusion, which is anechoic in itself.
