The superficial perineal pouchis an anatomic space below the perineal membrane in the urogenital traingle of the perineum.

Gross anatomy

The superficial perineal pouch is below the perineal membrane in the urogenital triangle, anterior to the transverse line between the ischial tuberosities.

Boundaries
  • roof: perineal membrane
  • floor: superficial perineal fascia (Colles' fascia)
    • Colles' fascia attaches to the posterior border of the perineal membrane posteriorly and to the pubic arch laterally
    • communicates with the Scarpa's fascia of the anterior abdominal wall anteriorly

  • bulbospongiosus muscle: separated by the urethra and vagina in the midline and covers the bulb of the vestibule
