Presentation

Body aches, right upper abdominal pain, fever for 3-4 days.

Patient Data

Age: 25 years
Gender: Male
ultrasound

Right pleural effusion with multiple internal septations and pleural thickening

x-ray

Large right pleural effusion.

Normal heart size.

Minor mediastinal shift.

Case Discussion

The patient was admitted to the fever clinic with myalgia, right upper abdominal pain and fever for 3-4 days. No vomiting or dysuria.

Ultrasound demonstrated a significant right pleural effusion and X-ray showed a large right pleural effusion, reduced volume of the right lung and minor mediastinal shift.
