Presentation
A 55 year old female presented to her family physician with swelling of the left breast following a recent rural camping trip.
Patient Data
Significant findings in the left breast include calcifications of DCIS throughout the left breast, a spiculated mass lateral superiorly and diffuse skin thickening throughout with nipple retraction.
Conventional diagnostic Mammo & Lt breats US.
Diffuse skin thickening and edema of the left breast noted on ultrasound.
Case Discussion
The pertinent observations would suggest extensive DCIS with a focal component of IDC and lymphatic extention manifesting as skin thickening i.e. orange skin peau d'orange.
