Anterior talofibular ligament injury

- complete tear of the anterior talofibular ligament corresponding to the site of pain
- comparison with the intact anterior talofibular ligament of the contralateral side
- intact tibiofibular and calcaneofibular ligaments of the symptomatic side
- mild effusion in the anterior recess of ankle joint

Bare talus due to the complete tear of the anterior talofibular ligament.
Case Discussion
Ultrasound findings suggest anterior talofibular ligament disruption. Surgery confirmed a mid substance tear along with an anterior capsular tear.
