Case Discussion

Sialolithiasis is the commonest cause of sialadenitis and submandibular gland is the commonest followed by the parotid gland. Calcular parotitis manifests as heterogeneously attenuating obstructed part with enhancement and proximal ductal dilatation. More severe forms may represent abscess formation and extension of the inflammatory process to the surrounding structures.
