Left great toe plantar region low-grade pain for the last three months. An acute increase in pain for the last week. No trauma.

Acute calcific periarthritis - great toe

Soft tissue calcification (12 x 9 x 4 mm) involving the plantar side of the 1st MTP joint. It is superficial (plantar) to the medial sesamoid and flexor tendon. Normal flexor tendon without tenosynovitis. Normal plantar side cortex of medial and lateral sesamoids without breach/irregularity. No joint effusion.

Cloud-like soft tissue calcification superficial to the medial sesamoid. No fracture of either of the sesamoids.
