Presentation
Left breast palpable mass on physical exam.
Patient Data
A 33×28 mm mass with irregular and spiculated margin and type III curve on post contrast kinetic analysis is noted at the upper central portion of the left breast compatible with BI-RADS assessment category 5.
A 15×11 mm satellite lesion is also observed inferior to the main mass with the same appearance and similar enhancement pattern.
Small lymphadenopathy is noted at the left axillary region measuring 14×10 mm.
Case Discussion
BI-RADS 5 lesions refer to breast lesions that are highly suspicious for malignancy, requiring appropriate action to be taken (i.e. biopsy and management as appropriate). BI-RADS 5 lesions have the characteristic morphology of breast cancer with a >95% chance of being malignant.
