The scout view shows a left upper pelvic opacity containing gas bubbles.
The CT scan shows a large well-encapsulated intraperitoneal ovoid hypodense structure of mixed content (fluid and air-bubbles) with peripheral enhancement and surrounding fat stranding.
Case Discussion
The CT feature in a patient with a history of surgery is most consistent with a gossypiboma which was confirmed at surgery (large gossypiboma).
