Case Discussion
Mesenteric panniculitis is a rare benign inflammatory condition of unknown origin that affects the mesenteric fat. Is described as a spectrum of pathological manifestations ranging from acute-subacute form characterized by fat degeneration predominantly inflammatory, to the predominant histological chronic forms of fibrosis. Radio-pathologic correlation is important because it may avoid unnecessary surgery.
