Muscle hernia - tibialis anterior

Presentation

Palpable nodule in mid antero-lateral aspect of leg for last few months.

Patient Data

Age: 15 years
Gender: Female
ultrasound

A defect is noted in fascia covering tibialis anterior muscle. 

A perforating vessel is noted passing through defect.

Muscle hernia is seen through defect. With compression, hernia regresses.

Case Discussion

Findings favor muscle hernia at site of fascial perforation by a vessel.
