A well defined bony lesion 1.5 x 1.2 cm in size bulging from outer table of left parietal bone near the coronal suture without surrounding soft tissue.
Case Discussion
Osteomas should be distinguished from osteochondromas, which have a cartilaginous (lucent) area and occasional speckled foci of calcified cartilage matrix. Osteochondromas may have marrow contained within the stalk, continuous with the marrow cavity of the parent bone. Osteomas do not have a marrow cavity.
