US elsewhere reported a dilated Rt renal pelvis The IVU demonstrates progressive dilatation of the right renal pelvis without excretion into the ureter even after one hour and the administration of intravenous frusemide.
Case Discussion
This is a case of pelvi-ureteric junction (PUJ) obstruction. The diagnosis has traditionally and may still be confidently made on an IVU study, although CT urography and MRI urography are increasing used. The later has the advanage of being a radiation free investigation.
