Presentation

History of pain and swelling at the right ankle and foot since 2 days after a twisted ankle while walking. Clinical examination: swelling hotness and tenderness over the base of the dorsal side of the right foot.

Patient Data

Age: 45 years
Gender: Male
x-ray

Avulsed fracture is seen at the styloid process of the right 5th metatarsal of the right foot.

Case Discussion

Pseudo-Jones fracture is located less than 1 cm distal to the joint, whereas a Jones fracture is typically located at least 2 cm distal to the joint.
