Accessory right inferior hepatic vein

Because of inferior vena caval contrast reflux, the accessory right inferior hepatic vein is clearly seen.
Other findings are bilateral pulmonary contusions, comminuted burst fractures of the L1 vertebra, rib fractures, and right pneumothorax.
Case Discussion
This is an incidental identification of the accessory right inferior hepatic vein, which is the most common variation of the hepatic veins.
It drains the posterior part of the right lobe directly to the inferior vena cava.
