Presentation
Left facial paresthesia in the territory of the trigeminal nerve (V1).
Patient Data
The MRI sequences demonstrate a solid/cystic mass of the left cerebellopontine angle measuring (5x3x 3 cm) of low signal intensity on T1WI, heterogeneous high signal intensity on T2WI, and FLAIR with heterogeneous enhancement mainly of the solid component on postcontrast sequences. Mild extension into an enlarged ipsilateral internal auditory canal. A mass effect is noted on the midbrain, left cerebellar hemisphere as well as the 4th ventricle. Moderate dilatation of the 3rd, and lateral ventricle with mild periventricular interstitial edema, indicating obstructive hydrocephalus.
