Extensive acute subarachnoid hemorrhage present throughout the ventricular system and between the sulci bilaterally. Mild dilation of the temporal horns of the lateral ventricles bilaterally suggestive of early hydrocephalus.

Case Discussion

This case demonstrates typical findings of an extensive acute subarachnoid hemorrhage with hyperdense blood present in the ventricular system and throughout the sulci.

As there is no history of trauma, there is a chance that this could have been caused by an aneurysm or vascular malformation. The next most appropriate investigation is therefore a CT intracranial angiogram.
