Patient Data

Age: 10 years
Gender: Male

There is an enhancing serpiginous lesion (arteriovenous malformation-AVM) centered on left perisylvian fronto-temporal lobes measuring about 4.1cm x 3.2cm x 2.7cm.

The feeding arteries to the lesion are mainly coming from the left middle cerebral artery.

The draining vessels are going to the left middle cerebral vein as well as internal cerebral vein via thalamostriate vein.
Rest of the brain parenchyma is normal.

Scores according to Spetzler-Martin arteriovenous malformation (AVM) grading system: 4

Size of nidus: (3-6 cm) = 2
Eloquence of adjacent brain: eloquent = 1
Venous drainage: Superficial and deep veins = 1
