Chondroblastic osteosarcoma

The MRI sequences demonstrate:
- abnormal signal of the femoral bone marrow of metadiaphyseal location, extending from the mid-third of the femoral shaft up to the distal metaphysis with aggressive osteolysis, extensive periosteal reaction, and thinning with irregularity of the cortical bone with a cortical break
- periosseous heterogeneously enhancing soft tissue mass invading and displacing the surrounding muscles, mainly the vastus lateralis
- epiphyseal extension of the tumoral process through the growth plate

MRI features of an extensive femoral tumoral process with periosseous soft tissue component.
The patient underwent an ultrasound-guided biopsy that confirmed the diagnosis of chondroblastic osteosarcoma.
