There is a complete absence of the corpus callosum and absent cingulate gyrus.
The body of lateral ventricles appears parallel giving a racing car appearance on axial images.
Significant dilatation of the posterior horns and temporal horns of the lateral ventricles (colpocephaly).
Hypoplastic fornices and hippocampi are noted.
Case Discussion
Development of the corpus callosum usually happens in the second trimester.
Agenesis is a result of an insult occurring at around 8-12 weeks of gestation.
