Dorsal pancreatic agenesis with pancreatic head mass

Presentation

Previously healthy non diabetic presented with chronic weak abdominal pain.

Patient Data

Age: 35 years
Gender: Female

The neck body and tail of the pancreas are not seen. The pancreatic head is noted at a normal position.There is a well defined heterogeneously hypodense mass within the head of the pancreas, Multiple marginal calcifications are noted within the mass. 

Case Discussion

Dorsal agenesis of the pancreas is a very rare finding. In this case on top of agenesis, there is a mass within the head. More so, this is not complicated by diabetes mellitus making this a more unique case of dorsal agenesis.
