Femoral incomplete fracture

Diagnosis almost certain

Presentation

Fall, left hip pain.

Patient Data

Age: 40-year-old
Gender: Male
x-ray

There is an oblique lucent line, which not clearly reaches the cortex, extending from the inferior portion of the lesser trochanter/pectineal line to the into to the intertrochanteric crest. the reminder bone structures are unremarkable.

There is an incomplete fracture extending superiorly from the medial aspect of the proximal femur, just bellow the lesser trochanter, to the intertrochanteric crest. The reminder bone structures as well as the hip joint alignment are unremarkable.

Conclusion:Incomplete fracture of the proximal femur.

Undisplaced fractures of the hip may have normal radiograph at the time of presentation.
