Grade 2 splenic injury

Moderate splenomegaly. There is an ill-defined hypodense peripheral area along the superior lateral aspect of the spleen, consistent with a grade 2 AAST splenic injury.
There is no active contrast extravasation.
There is a tiny adjacent subcapsular splenic hematoma.
Hematoma in the right thigh not completely visualized, with no active contrast extravasation.
Case Discussion
It is important to pick up a splenic trauma, because the spleen is highly vascularized, and an injury to its parenchyma or vasculature can result in significant blood loss.
