Presentation

Left-sided chest pain and severe respiratory distress.

Patient Data

Age: 55 years
Gender: Female
x-ray

Frontal and lateral radiographs demonstrate a complete white out of the left hemithorax.

An opacity encompassing the entire left hemithorax with mass effect on the mediastinum is observed, causing deviation of the mediastinum to the right.
