Hepatoblastoma

Presentation

Abdominal swelling, hepatomegaly, fever.

Patient Data

Age: 1
Gender: Female
Ultrasound

A heterogenous predominantly echogenic mass lesion is seen involving liver parenchyma.

CT

A large heterogenously enhancing mass lesion is seen in liver, with ascites. Mass appears predominantly solid with cystic necrotic areas within.

Case Discussion

Patient was found to have thrombocytosis (platelet count of 10 lacs/cmm), and elevated alpha fetoprotein. Resection was mass was done, and final diagnosis of hepatoblastoma was made.
